Space4 is a co-operative
co-working and events
space in Finsbury Park.

Co-working

Space4 has 24 desk spaces, which can be used on a short- or long-term basis and hired by the day or by the month. Most users of the space work on projects that have some social value and which are related to tech and digital, though we’re welcoming to everyone! Our residents play an active role in making Space4 a positive place. See the community section for more details.

Desks cost £225+VAT/month for a fixed desk, £200+VAT/month for a hotdesk, £150+VAT/month for 10 days/month, or £20+VAT/day. Reductions are possible in exchange for payment in kind, or to people who are working on low incomes for social value projects. Benefits include broadband internet access - up to 350Mb download + 20Mb upload, 24/7 access, use of our meeting and events spaces, printer, lockers, kitchen and access to our programme of educational and social events.

Our co-working community

Space4 is more than just a serviced office. We are a community of people dedicated to making the world a fairer place, and to create a supportive working environment. The space is supported by CoTech, a UK-wide network of worker co-operatives in the digital tech sector. We have some of these co-ops working here, including AR designers Animorph, web developers Go Free Range, and open data specialists Open Data Services. We also have small charities, freelancers and small businesses, most of whom are using technology (to greater or lesser degrees!) to support their social aims.

Every Wednesday we eat lunch together in the space. This is an opportunity for people to get to know each other, swap ideas, share skills and invite others in. Users of the space are actively encouraged to participate in lunches and evening events, and even to host their own. Users are also invited to join our governance committee, which decides on future strategies for Space4. For users who aren’t in a position to pay the full price for a desk, we ask them to volunteer instead to help making the space function.
