What is a Design Sprint? Learn how they can get you from idea -> impact fast and secure stakeholder buy in.

About this event

Design Sprints, first developed at Google, are all about developing a idea quickly with real users. They involve:

  • zeroing in on the problem you’re trying to solve
  • fleshing out a concept
  • building a prototype
  • and getting it front of real people to test

But how do you do all of that? And quickly?

Why this event

At Outlandish we’ve been running Design Sprints for NGOs, charities, unions and socially positive start-ups for the last 3 years

If you’re thinking of running a sprint at your organisation, if you want to get ideas off the ground fast, or if you’re just yearning for everyone “to be a bit more innovative”, we can help.

What you’ll learn

In this workshop we’ll demystify what a Design Sprint involves and share how we’re adapted them for teams like yours.

  1. learn how they’re good for any idea – from tech ideas to campaigns, from strategies to processes
  2. get an insight into the key steps of a Design Sprint and why they are useful
  3. understand how to adapt the Design Sprint process to get it to work for you
  4. overcome key blockers to Design Sprints internally and during your sprint
  5. find out how to get stakeholders involved (without eating up their time)
  6. go beyond Design Sprints to start thinking about planning your idea in a way that cuts risk

About Outlandish

We work on technology that makes the world a fairer, better place.

Our websites and data tools have helped nearly a million users take action on changes to schools and NHS funding; surfaced anti-corruption research to journalists; and helped campaigning organisations strive for social justice.

And our prototypes have helped schoolchildren connect and learn during Covid-19, warned people in Syria of airstrikes, and supported scientific research through open-sourcing biotech patents.

We help good people do good things.
