About this event

What would it look like to be able to develop and practice skills to help explore conflict and difficult situations in a safe and consistent way?

In this workshop we will give you an introduction to communication practices that encourage a culture of openness and trust in the workplace. You will try these practices out for yourselves and explore how they could help your team communicate more effectively, ultimately leading to a happier and more fulfilling work life for the members of your coop. Finally, we’ll reflect on what we’ve learnt and experienced in the workshop and you’ll identify any next steps to using some or all of these concepts and practices within your own coop.

Learning outcomes:

By the end of this course participants will have:

  • Learnt what active/reflective listening is and practised using it to speak about real situations
  • Learnt about behaviours that help develop openness, understanding and trust in teams
  • Explored how conflict in the workplace can be responded to safely
  • Clarified personal and organisational next steps in implementing any of these learnings

About the facilitators

Lucy King

Lucy is a collaborator at Outlandish who is interested in how people come together to create change in the world – whether through a digital product or a political campaign. She’s sad that the world doesn’t always prioritise being happy, fulfilled and yourself at work, and thinks development in this area has huge potential to create personal and business growth.

Kayleigh Walsh
