I’ve been a member of Space4 for 7 years since it was a very small project. I’ve seen it grow and been part of its journey, the same way it’s been part of my journey as a freelancer! I work in music and communications and I’ve been very lucky to meet brilliant people at Space4 – from a Colourist to a Web Developer – to work with. I’ve also found freelance work through a colleague there. The best thing about is the fact it’s run cooperatively and we all get to make decisions.
I help to organise the community lunches at the space and I love doing this! It makes me feel so connected to my community to feed everyone and come together over food from the local area (as well as my famous homemade salads!) I really can’t imagine my life without space4. It is a huge boost to my mental health and it feels like home from home.
