Connection, Collaboration & Growth – My Summer at SPACE4

Myle’s Story:

I didn’t initially come to SPACE4 looking for a coworking space, but was open to some form of creative collaboration after years of solo grinding. A good friend recommended their free Givers Gain event early 2025, so I went along not expecting too much. The first event honestly felt different – in that the small and intimate, almost ’round-table’ setting noting down our immediate needs, mid-term goal and big dream in order to share among the group made things focused and accountable. It also helped that people were really easygoing, welcoming and genuinely interested in connecting. No question felt too silly and no aspect of my business felt irrelevant. It was clear that many there were existing members and had done serious community work themselves. They knew how the process worked and were happy to bring me into the fold.

Later, SPACE4 offered me a free month of coworking, which is when I really got a taste of Space4’s commitment to community. Everyone remembered your name, what you were working on and how they could help. Their spaces felt lively and facilities were always usable and clean. During another Givers Gain event, I mentioned my brand strategy and design work and members I just met asked to collaborate, offered introductions and encouraged me without hesitation. One web developer even reached out directly after seeing my name recommended on the community job board – a collaboration I hadn’t expected.

The most tangible outcome for me was mentoring Devalle Webley – founder of Adaptive Ballers and advocate for wheelchair basketball players – on managing his social media content. SPACE4’s meeting rooms made it easy to run our in-person sessions, giving me the space to have a meaningful impact on their entrepreneurial journey. I expect to continue supporting Devalle going forward and being part of the SPACE4 community gave me the visibility and confidence to take on that role.

Not only is it a space to work, but it has a real community that cares, encourages and supports each other. Human-first, cooperative and committed to diversity, SPACE4 definitely made my summer one of connection, growth, and inspiration.
