Founders and Coders has one primary goal, to foster diversity within the tech industry. To do this we deliver high quality, free training and paid apprenticeships through our peer-led learning model.
We have been an anchor tenant for Space4 since it’s beginnings as one of Islington’s Affordable Workspaces, but it has been more than just a venue for our programmes. It’s provided the setting for much of what makes Founders and Coders what it is. The space has helped us stay grounded in our core values: collaboration, inclusion, and peer support. It’s enabled us to grow a learning community where people feel genuinely welcomed, supported, and encouraged to develop both their technical and interpersonal skills.
Being based at Space4 means we’re surrounded by others working on projects with purpose. Some of our most valuable partnerships have grown from informal conversations — shared lunches, introductions in passing, or attending each other’s events. These connections have helped us stay embedded in a wider ecosystem of socially driven organisations.

Beyond day-to-day training, Space4 has made it easy for us to bring people together, whether for end-of-cohort celebrations, Tech for Better showcases, or informal community hangouts. These moments of connection are a vital part of how we support learning and foster a strong sense of belonging.
Thanks to the environment Space4 creates, we’re not just delivering programmes — we’re sustaining a community that continues to grow together, in a place where asking questions is normal, giving back is second nature, and showing up as yourself is more than enough.
