Liftoff & Nico

My SPACE4 journey began in 2018 during my time at Founders and Coders. Stepping into this inclusive and welcoming community felt like finding a home – a place where diverse individuals and organisations come together, united by a shared commitment to social justice and progressive change. 

After finishing Founders and Coders, I collaborated with the SPACE4 team to set up a project called Lift Off. Lift Off provides affordable, high-quality websites for charities, nonprofits, and small businesses, and gives junior developers a chance to gain real-world, practical experience. 

Being part of the Lift Off collective and the SPACE4 community has been one of the most empowering and fulfilling experiences of my life – far more purposeful than my full-time job as a software engineer. Through Lift Off, I’ve had the privilege of working on projects that genuinely make a difference, forging deeper connections with clients whose visions and aspirations become shared goals for the team. 

These projects have helped me grow, not only as a developer but also as a project manager, a mentor, and a more well-rounded individual. Each client’s success feels like a collective triumph, and the work we do has a tangible, positive social impact. 

Being part of this community – a place where skills, values, and purpose align – motivates me every day to strive for more and contribute to a world where technology drives meaningful change.
