Stanley Joined a Startup

My first visit to SPACE4 was for a tech meetup that was running on Friday evenings. I’d been trying to break into the tech industry in the field of machine learning but even after all the applications and networking, nothing had worked for me. 

As soon as I entered the room where the coding was taking place, I had a gut feeling that this was exactly where I was meant to be. Everyone was really welcoming and I had a great time learning with others. Fast-forward a few weeks and I was accepted into the Founders and Coders Machine Learning Apprenticeship programme. This was exactly what I’d been looking for. 

Via the programme, which takes place at SPACE4, I was able to rapidly improve my technical ability and career skills. And importantly, I met incredible peers and mentors who have helped me to become a better version of myself. As part of the apprenticeship programme, I was able to secure my first role in the machine learning industry making a lifelong dream come true. 

The role is 100% remote and so luckily I’ve been able to remain at SPACE4. I’ve remained connected to an incredibly supportive and positive community, I’ve been introduced to further opportunities to develop my career and have also been able to give back by leading the same meetup I attended! Looking back, the change in my life has been remarkable and it would not have been possible without the crucial role SPACE4 plays in Finsbury Park. I feel extremely grateful to count myself as one of their members.
